Community Development VISTA Positions Available!

Applications are now being accepted for seven AmeriCorps VISTA positions to serve at various sites in the Pittsburgh area under PCRG’s Reimagining Communities Initiative and in partnership with New Sun Rising.

These positions are a great opportunity for individuals seeking to gain valuable full-time professional experience in community development while positively impacting neighborhoods through a year of service!

The Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group (PCRG) is a nonprofit advocating for smart, equitable policies and adequate resources to build vibrant and strong urban neighborhoods.

New Sun Rising empowers creative projects in the Pittsburgh region through fiscal sponsorship, mentoring, and community building.

Millvale Community Library is a powerhouse of local involvement. We work collaboratively with individuals and agencies to provide dynamic programming to patrons. We make decisions that are good for our environment, our economy, and our people. We invite insights and support from all over the country because every community deserves an exceptional space to learn and come together.

Opportunity Hub South creates services and relationships that position Allentown as the Southern hub for business development opportunity in the City of Pittsburgh and surrounding neighborhoods.

All applications must be submitted through the VISTA Portal, so those interested will need to create an account there to apply. The deadline to apply is May 31, 2015, however, applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants must be available to attend a Pre-Service Orientation the week of July 20, 2015 and begin the one-year term at their site on July 27, 2015.
