The HomeBase Program empowers small businesses to grow by providing flexible microgrants for eligible activities that increase revenue, and leverage additional funding opportunities.

Goal of the Program

What We Provide

The program focuses on those ready to take their next growth step with targeted support and guidance. We provide grants up to $5,000 for eligible activities.

Eligibility guidelines

The current funding round is made possible by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Main Street Matters Grant and includes the following eligibilty criteria:

• Be located in Homewood, East Liberty, Larimer, or Wilkinsburg
• Have less than 5 employees
• Have been operating for at least one year
• Made less than $1M in revenue in the previous year

Use of funds

Funding from HomeBase is designed to be flexible, allowing businesses to use it where they need it most.
These funds are NOT to be utilized for day-to-day business operations such as payroll, rent, existing debt,
or any other ongoing expenses. For this round, funds may also NOT to be used for consulting costs or
certifications.

Examples of eligible activities include:

• Structural/interior improvements to optimize your business
• Tools, machinery, or equipment to enchance your business operations
• Technology upgrades to streamline processes or improve experiences

At this time, HomeBase is restricted to funding businesses that meet the above criteria from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Main Street Matters Grant. Our team is committed to seeking additional funds to replenish our grant fund so that we can continue to provide HomeBase grants to small businesses outside of the current guidelines.  Please continue to check back as we will update this page as additional funding may become available.
