Seeking two dynamic Pittsburgh neighborhoods to host Next 3 Days events in 2016

Jan 4, 2016

N3D_horizpurp-copyNext 3 Days (N3D )is an innovative event series created by the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh, the City of Pittsburgh – Office of the Mayor and NEXT Pittsburgh to shine a light on the many under-the-radar Pittsburgh neighborhoods that are overlooked in favor of better known places. N3D is designed to showcase a neighborhood in one weekend, bringing together business district revitalization activities and promotion of the residential neighborhood into one concentrated blitz.

The community will set up a planning committee consisting of residents, business owners, community development corporation staff (if applicable) and other partners as determined to plan the events. Events may include (but are not limited to) an event on Friday evening, a community celebration in the business district, walking tours of the neighborhood, homebuyer education programs, and a neighborhood-wide real estate open house.

N3D neighborhoods must:

  • Be located in the City of Pittsburgh
  • Have at least two local restaurants that will participate as food vendors for the event.  One of these must have a liquor license that can be used for off-premises use.
  • Have at least two retail businesses that can participate in the event.
  • Have at least three local artists/crafts persons who will participate.
  • Have a maximum neighborhood median home price of less than $90,000
  • Be able to commit at least two dozen volunteers to help to plan and work at the events
  • Be able to commit one point person to work directly with the URA, the Mayor’s Office and Revive Marketing to plan and implement the events.

If you think that your neighborhood is ready for this awesome event, please email N3DPgh@gmail.com by January 6.  Include short responses to all of the above bullet points in your email.

All interested neighborhoods will also be required to attend an informational meeting on January 13 at 6:30 pm.  Location TBA.
