Friends of Neighborhood Allies Celebrate Pittsburgh Architecture Week by Sharing Their Favorite Buildings and Public Spaces in Pittsburgh

Oct 11, 2024

By Jordan Swartz, Social Impact Designer at Neighborhood Allies

Put on every year by the Pittsburgh chapter of the American Institute of Architects, Architecture Week celebrates the built environment of greater Pittsburgh and elevates the impact that architecture, and the designers behind it, impact our daily lives. Our Social Impact Design team works regularly with architects and designers to translate community vision into fundable design projects. These designers include members of SID’s Equity-Centered Designer Network as well as members of the Pittsburgh chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects. To celebrate Architecture Week, we spoke with some of our collaborators about their favorite buildings and public spaces in the Pittsburgh region.

As lovers of the built realm, it is on all of us to center equity in all that we design. As we wrap up the year and look to 2025, the Social Impact Design team is excited to select our next endeavor after a successful Call for Projects. Our program would not be where it is today without the support of our fellow designers. Check out some of the projects below to see some familiar faces.
