Hill District affordable housing project receives $120,000 investment from Neighborhood Capital Program

We’re excited to announce a $120,000 investment to support the Herron Village development project in the Hill District.

Herron Village is a two-phase rehab project that will bring 12 units of affordable housing to the neighborhood along with 3 commercial retail spaces. We’ve worked alongside the developer, Ms. Tonya Ford, for several years as she’s worked to bring the project’s vision to reality.

  • Our Social Impact Design team provided floor plans for the apartment buildings,
  • We supported her successful application for Federal Home Loan Bank funding, and
  • We provided her with a predevelopment grant early in the development timeline.
Last year, we attended the official groundbreaking. We can’t wait to see construction get underway!

This investment from our Neighborhood Capital program will propel the project into the construction phase, and we look forward to seeing the first phase of Herron Village completed.  We are proud to support Ms. Tonya, who, as a 4th generation Hill District resident, epitomizes community ownership.
