Neighborhood Allies Welcomes Karen Lue as Senior Program Manager of Digital Inclusion and Innovation

Please join us in welcoming Karen Lue to the Neighborhood Allies Team!

As Senior Program Manager of Digital Inclusion and Innovation, Karen will assist in launching and building upon initiatives including the Verizon Community Forward Learning Centers in Homewood and partnerships with STEAM/STEM program providers across the Pittsburgh region. She will also operationalize and streamline communications for the Digital Inclusion and Innovation team. 

Prior to joining Neighborhood Allies, Karen spent three years as the inaugural Pitt Global Hub Manager at the University of Pittsburgh, where she developed all processes for a student-centered resource and programming space focused on global and international engagement. She has also gained extensive operations management, project management, and event planning experience through her roles at Beauty Shoppe, a local co-working operator, and Indiewalls, a tech-based art consultancy in NYC.

Karen is a practicing artist and curator who works to uplift marginalized voices in the local arts community. She was an inaugural Visual Arts Coalition for Equity (VACE) Fellow in 2021, and has curated and led programming with the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council, the Office for Public Art, and the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh. Karen has exhibited at Silver Eye Center for Photography, SPACE, and the Pittsburgh Center for Arts & Media, among others. 

She was a 2015-2016 Fulbright English Teaching Assistant and received her B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh. Karen has also completed coursework through the Graduate School for Public and International Affairs and aims to combine her public administration knowledge with her project management skills, creativity, and passion for community-building in her work at Neighborhood Allies.
