Pittsburgh entrepreneurs need more than great ideas to succeed. A recent $25,000 investment from Comcast will allow Neighborhood Allies to expand access to the digital skills and tools that small business owners needed to grow their businesses.
Small businesses increasingly rely on digital tools and online platforms to reach customers, manage operations, market their products and services, and generate revenue. However, many small business owners–particularly those with limited resources–continue to face barriers to accessing technology, developing digital skills, and effectively using digital tools to strengthen their businesses.

With this funding, Neighborhood Allies will continue to expand access to digital education, technical assistance, and peer learning opportunities that help small business owners build confidence and capacity while applying new skills directly to their businesses.
Specifically, this grant will:
- Support 5 small businesses to complete our Get Online Grow Online program.
- Support the creation of a Digital Skills Resource Hub – a peer-to-peer digital learning and networking hub that will allow for both in-person and virtual opportunities for connection and learning.
Neighborhood Allies is committed to providing small businesses with the opportunities, tools, resources, and digital skills they need to stabilize, adapt, and grow. We are proud to support Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation’s work to build a more connected, equitable, and just world.
