Robin Sheffey Transitions to New Role as Program Manager of Beams to Bridges, Steel Smiling

May 27, 2025

Join us in congratulating Robin on the transition into her new role!

As the Program Manager of Beams to Bridges, Robin will oversee the Beams to Bridges (BTB) Program, which provides 6 months of comprehensive mental health training and education to community members grounded in self and community care.

“Beams to Bridges (BTB) represents a powerful personal and community journey. Graduates have shared that the information they received has been life-changing, helping them and their family members initiate conversations about mental health. It has also encouraged them to address the stigma from the past that has kept their voices silent.”

When asked what Robin hopes to bring to the program, she said that she aims to enhance the program’s impact by building trust, promoting cultural responsiveness, and providing sustainable mental health solutions for Black communities in Pittsburgh. She also plans to focus on creating alumni networks and ongoing learning resources to foster a continuous sense of community and improve access to mental health resources.

“Since the inaugural BTB cohort was launched in the Hilltop community with funding support from Neighborhood Allies’ Catalytic Grant Program, Robin has been a trusted staple in the program. She started as a Program Consultant with BTB1, to now leading our efforts for BTB5 in 2025!”
