The Partnership Network | Member Story: Neighborhood Allies

Apr 4, 2019

The Partnership Network (TPN) is a network of organizations that mobilizes the community development network to create the conditions for change and solve complex community challenges at the macro, meso, and micro levels of our communities

TPN Member Story #3: Neighborhood Allies

Neighborhood Allies mission is to support the people, organizations and partnerships committed to creating and maintaining healthy neighborhoods. We do this by: Creating community partnerships, Connecting distressed and transitioning communities with valued/vetted resources, and Communicating and celebrating progress and success.

In the following Q&A, Neighborhood Allies President, Presley Gillespie speaks about our experience participating in TPN.

“Participating in TPN has helped illuminate for us what our partners believe in, how they work, and ultimately their values related to true collaboration”

-Presley Gillespie

Q: Why did your organization decide to be a part of The Partnership Network?

A: We decided to be a part of the network because we believe we need a new era of community development. This requires new thinking, new capacity and new collaboration in our neighborhoods and institutions.

Q: What is the most rewarding part of being in The Partnership Network?

A: Building trust and encouraging our peers. Peer to peer encouragement is very critical in this very messy work.

Q: How has The Partnership Network impacted your organization?

A: Helped illuminate for us what our partners believe in, how they work, and ultimately their values related to true collaboration.

Q: What would you tell other organizations about the value of The Partnership Network?

A: The value is consistent communication and building trust.

Q: What do you hope for The Partnership Network to accomplish in the year ahead?

A: Alignment of resources, which results in greater collective resources and true positive impact on the populations that we serve.
