The Partnership Network (TPN) is a network of organizations that mobilizes the community development network to create the conditions for change and solve complex community challenges at the macro, meso, and micro levels of our communities.
TPN Member Story #3: New Sun Rising
New Sun Rising (NSR) designs and implements programs that create economic opportunity, solve social challenges, and strengthen the vibrancy of place. They serve as an educator, resource provider, connector, and activator of neighborhood-scale innovation. Their focus is on underserved communities and how regenerative growth strategies can be utilized for equitable development.
Scott Wolovich is the Executive Director at NSR. In the following Q&A, he speaks about their experience participating in TPN.

Q: Why did your organization decide to be a part of The Partnership Network?
A: New Sun Rising envisions a future where connectivity and collaboration are central to the goals of all people and organizations. The people we serve often lack access and proximity to the resources necessary for them to improve their quality of life. We believe that TPN is a great example of building bridges between organizations that can set a new culture and way of operating.
Q: What is the most rewarding part of being in The Partnership Network?
A: Strengthening relationships between leaders who I admire and organizations who are doing difficult, but related work to New Sun Rising. TPN also provides a forum to explore larger trends and challenges within the community economic development sector. The bonds build between members are rewarding on the personal and professional level.

A: Participating in TPN has helped New Sun Rising better understand the various roles necessary for collaborations to succeed. It has strengthened our bonds with strategic partners and given us the ability to jointly explore strategic and operational activities which are aligned with our values.
Q: What would you tell other organizations about the value of The Partnership Network?
A: The Partnership Network is a group of highly committed leaders and organizations who are working together to tackle some very large challenges, and turn them into opportunities for under served communities. Organizations who are seeking a more transparent, trusting, data driven, and efficient community economic development system should reach out to learn more.
Q: What do you hope for The Partnership Network to accomplish in the year ahead?
A: In the coming year we are committed to get to action. TPN has a number of pilots at various stages of development related to our three strategic priorities: aligning resources, creating transparency, and communicating shared outcomes. We’re excited to see our collective impact take root through these projects and improve the quality of life for the neighborhoods we serve.
