As Program Manager for Economic Opportunity and Investment, Javier supports both Economic Opportunity programming and Centralized Real Estate Accelerator programming. His Economic Opportunity work includes supporting and expanding Bank On Allegheny County by integrating bank account opening into programming via strategic partnerships with community organizations and local financial institutions. He also works with the Real Estate team to grow relationships and build underwriting processes for the Neighborhood Capital program.
Javier’s background includes several years as a financial analyst in the banking sector as well as nearly a decade in the nonprofit sector. He has worked internationally in Colombia, Peru, and Cameroon and is a proud AmeriCorps alumni. Prior to joining Neighborhood Allies, Javier served as the Disaster Response Program Coordinator at Brother’s Brother Foundation, where he managed efforts related to disaster preparedness and response.
Javier currently serves as board president for Light and Leadership Initiative, an educational nonprofit operating in Peru. He is passionate about working with youth and volunteers as a soccer coach for the nonprofit organization Open Field. He pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and obtained his Master’s degree in International Development from University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.
